Hunger Has No Season™

Dear Friends of the Soup Kitchen:
In 2010, 53,048 meals were served by the Enfield Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen, with 27,684 meals, or approximately 52%, being served to children. This is a sad and sobering reminder of the ever-growing problem of hunger within our own community. Another 10,815 meals were provided for home consumption to families in emergency situations. These less fortunate people are in need of your help. In addition, 50,341 snacks were prepared for children in after school programs of Educational Resources for Children (ERfC).
Meals are planned by the food services director and volunteers and are varied, well balanced and nutritious.
Typical Meals Include:
| •Juice | •Chicken with Gravy | •Mashed Potatoes |
| •Mixed Vegetables | •Rolls and Butter | •Cake, Pies and Ice Cream |
| •Fresh Fruit | •Coffee and Milk |
We rely solely on the generosity of our volunteers and donations, and we're always looking for new help. Volunteers are welcome Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Some of our volunteer duties include: setting up for dinner, preparing foods, fundraising, answering the telephone and taking messages, receiving donations, serving meals, caring for leftover foods, clean up, and help in picking up donations at various sites.
